Automatic speed pad

Use a Repeat Command Block to check every player and apply Speed while they stand on a gold block.

What you need

Before placing the blocks

  • 1 Command Block
  • Gold blocks for the pad
  • Keep the Command Block in a loaded area

Expected result

Test after setup

Players standing on a gold block continuously receive Speed I; it stops refreshing after they step away.

Configure one block at a time

Open the game and match these values

The copy button copies only Command Input. Choose every other value in the Command Block screen.

Repeating floor detector

This Repeat Block needs no Redstone, but avoid placing more copies than necessary.

Set Console Command for Block
execute as @a at @s if block ~ ~-1 ~ minecraft:gold_block run effect give @s minecraft:speed 2 0 true

@s = self · @p = nearest player · @a = all players · @e = all entities

If it does not work

Check these four things first

  1. Cheats are enabled and you have Operator permission
  2. Needs Redstone or Always Active matches the example
  3. Chain Block arrows face the same direction and follow the previous block
  4. Read Previous Output to find the command that failed
