When to use it
Start a Survival round after building the arena. This changes every online player, including operators in the game, but does not configure a default mode for offline players.
Before running
Have everyone stand on safe ground first, especially players flying in Creative. Finish construction and announce the switch because Survival damage rules will apply.

What to customize
Replace @a with a player name or a participant selector on both the announcement and the mode line. If staff must remain in Creative, narrow the target before running rather than switching everyone and repairing individual modes afterward.
Verify the result
Ask participants to check hearts and hunger and try normal play in a safe area. Check staff accounts too, so an unintended mode change is noticed immediately.
When results differ
New arrivals may still use the world default; this command does not watch for joins. Repeating it also cannot remember or restore each player’s different previous mode.
