When to use it
Clear the sky for Java building, photography, or outdoor events, then hold it clear for the session by stopping the weather cycle. Time is untouched, so it may still be night after rain stops.
Before running
Check with players whose activities rely on rain or storms. Run once and allow the visual transition rather than immediately repeating the command because the sky has not changed yet.
Follow in order
All commands
Clear the weather
/weather clearClears the sky now; the next line stops rain from returning on its own
Keep the sky clear
/gamerule doWeatherCycle falseStops the weather cycle; rain will not return on its own until set back to true
What to customize
To clear rain once and let weather change normally afterwards, run only the first line. Set doWeatherCycle back to true when the event ends. For a timed interval, use the version-aware weather tool.
Verify the result
Check in an Overworld area where rain is visible and allow the transition to finish. Particle absence alone is a poor test in a region that does not visibly rain.
When results differ
If rain returns while doWeatherCycle is false, look for map automation or staff issuing weather commands: the rule only stops automatic changes, not the weather command. Investigate separately from time controls.
